Welcome back! The kids did a great job falling into our old routines! We started off by reading Squirrel's New Year's Resolution. We charted things that Kindermonsters do well and things that they need work on. It was really cute to hear their responses! Then we wrote our goals for 2014. Mine is to dismiss the kids on time! Day one was a success!
During reading groups we are focusing on listening to the beginning, middle, and ending sounds of words and comparing them to other words. We are also concentrating on forming letters correctly to help our writing. And, of course, READING!!
In math we practiced writing our numbers by filling in our January calendars. The kids were very excited to see all of the special events this month!
