September 16

What a fun morning!  We surprised Mrs. Burton with a birthday breakfast!  She was so happy to look at all of the kids' cards.  The kids enjoyed donuts, grapes, bananas, and juice.  It was such a nice way to celebrate a great teacher!

We worked on the letter Q and added q-tips to our alphabet books.  The kids also put a picture of themselves dressed as a pirate on the P page.

This week we are studying our five senses.  Today we did an overview of each of the five.  We spent time exploring our senses in the center room.  They painted with smelly finger paint, matched different textures, listened and matched sounds, searched for hidden pictures, and tasted sweet, salty, bitter, and sour foods.  In class we checked out our eye color and recorded it in our books.

We did a picture walk of the book Bee-bim Bop.  We looked at the characters, setting, and made predictions.

After music we visited Happy Bear.  The kids did a great job learning about welcome and unwelcome touches.
