March 26

This morning we learned three new fancy words; scurry, watchful, and hollow.  We reread Whose House? and paid close attention to the details, or little parts that help us understand the story.

After we visited the center room we boarded canoes and took a trip down the Amazon River!  The kids saw a lot of plants and the brown muddy water.  They heard all kinds of animal sounds that they guessed were frogs, woodpeckers, and crocodiles.

In reading groups we are busy working on hearing the beginning, middle, and ending sounds of words.  We are also practicing all of our sight words on our rainbow reading challenge!  I sent home your student's handwriting book.  Please use it to help with letter formation at home, unfortunately our time is so limited that we just haven't gotten to it lately!

During math we worked on our mad minutes and played KABOOM, a game that used fast adding!
