December 5

The kiddos started their day counting tens and ones.  Mrs. Pemberton led them in morning meeting and read them Lois Ehlert's Snowballs.  They kids illustrated the steps to build a snowman.

After recess we read Bear Snores On.  We talked about the different animals in the story and how they stayed warm in the winter.  We also discussed how the bear's feelings changed during the story.  We learned three new fancy words; blustery, slumbering, and delight.

After music we continued our learning about healthy foods.  The kids "shopped" for fruits, vegetables, grains, protein, and dairy.  They glued them on their caterpillars and wrote words to follow the patterned text in The Very Hungry Caterpillar.  They turned out so cute and are on display outside our room!

We had just enough time to squeeze in a mad minute before getting ready for dismissal.  Please be sure to go over your child's test so that they are able to identify the numbers to focus on during the next test.

Tomorrow is hat day!
