December 13

Wow!  Once again I am blown away by how well the kids' writing is getting!  Today they wrote their snowman sentences.  They turned out really great.  Some kids even used an exclamation point at the end of their sentence!

We read another gingerbread story, The Gingerbread Baby.  This one had many of the same characters we've seen, the same setting, but a different ending.

During reading groups we have been illustrating a book full of prepositions!  See if your child can read you their Santa Claus book and act it out.

We used table blocks in math today to explore shapes.  First the kids were asked to put two shapes together to make a new shape.  Then I gave specific instructions for them to make new shapes (put two squares together to make a rectangle, etc.).  They also got to play a partner game to roll-a-gingerbread man!  If you would like to play with your child all you need is a die, pencil, and paper!  Click here to play (scroll down it is on the left).
