Happy Friday!

We had a really nice day in kindergarten!  We started off reading It Looked Like Spilt Milk by Charles Shaw.  The kids thought it was very fun that the author's name was the same as our friend Charles!  The kids made cloud paintings by squishing white paint onto a folded piece of paper.  They then had to label their cloud by interpreting what it looked like.  We had bunnies, angels, rainbows, butterflies, and even muscles!  The kindermonsters are becoming very good writers by stretching out their words!

We enjoyed a bit longer recess because they did such a nice job during their bathroom break!  Cooper brought us a delicious snack mix and we had milk.  During snack the kids watched a Brainpop video about 3D shapes.  Next thing I knew they were holding up pieces from their snack mix and saying what shape they were!  Jerry mentioned that a pretzel is a cylinder.  Emmy noticed that a cracker was a square and Ethan even found a sphere!

Friday Mania was a huge success as always!  Abigail read a book and picked a whistle for her treasure.  I do not believe that Abi's parents loved this as much as she did!  They thought that using bags full of jello to practice writing their letters was big fun!

We closed out our day celebrating our differences by reading Todd Parr's It's Okay to be Different.  Then we heard from our pal Aidan, who loves the color red.  He would like to man the hose on a firetruck someday.  He has joined the arachnophobia club too.  He showed off his sweet hot ride car that he likes to zoom around the ground.

Have a great weekend everyone!
