When I got to school today I had a feeling that it would be a fun day (Mrs. Weishaars' energy level may have been helped by the large Diet Coke Mrs. Pemberton showed up with...)!

We learned about the letter F and the kids glued feathers into their Alpahabet Books.  Our "Who Let the Letters Out" song and dance is getting quite entertaining!  Charles got to be our first MonSTAR helper!  We learned the correct formation of the letter R.  In your child's backpack their is a handwriting packet that will help them practice writing their letters correctly at home.

We learned the rest of our rules and the gestures that go with them:
#1. Follow directions quickly. (swimmy hand)
#2. Raise your hand for permission to speak. (raise hand and make talking gesture with hand)
#3. Raise your hand for permission to leave your seat. (raise hand and make walking gesture with hand)
#4. Make smart choices. (tap head with finger)
#5. Make your dear teacher happy! (smile BIG with fingers on cheeks)

We learned all about Addison McGlinn today and even got to meet her friend Julie!  She told us that she wants to be a cheerleader when she grows up.  We made a deal that if I did a cheer at recess she would do one for me.  I did mine but I am still waiting to her cheer!

We read the book You and Me and talked about opposites.  We also learned three more "fancy words;" differ, stalking, and mellow.

The highlight of the day was reviewing 2D shapes.  The kids got to use pull-n-peel licorice to make a triangle, square, circle, and rectangle.  We also noticed that a siX-sided shape is called a heXagon!  Here are your kiddos hard at work!

P.S. I have fixed the blog's special schedule (thank you Nikki!).  Wednesday we have Music, Thursday Library, and Friday Computer!  Hope that helps!
