Today was a great day in our first grade world! We increased our stamina during read to self to over 5 minutes!! They are really serious about becoming better readers! We also worked hard in our new math curriculum to understand 5-groups and adding more. They finished up putting things in their writing workshop hear to help inspire their writing. We finished up our day by doing a partner project to help reinforce the rules we have been learning about. It was great to see them working together to help strengthen our classroom community!
The kids were super lucky today to have some extra recess time! They were also EXTREMELY hot! I have told the kids that they can bring water bottles to leave at their tables to stay hydrated. I will do my best to send these home on Fridays for a good scrubbing!
