Yay for Spring!! The kids were very excited to play in our tree's beautiful, white petals today!
We are learning about opinions this week. Yesterday the kids wrote about their favorite color and explained why they picked it. Today we read a book called Duck! Rabbit! and the kids had to decide if they thought the picture was a duck or a rabbit. They worked in a group to come up with three pieces of evidence to support their opinion.
In math we are working on number combinations that add up to ten. The goal is to understand "ten teams" for first grade.
We read a fantasy book called Igor: the Bird Who Couldn't Sing. It is a great book about acceptance and lends itself well to opinions!

NEXT Thursday is our ALL DAY field trip to Deana Rose Farmstead!
NEXT Friday is May Day planting day at 10:00, send a flower in on 5/1 or 5/2.
Thursday, May 22nd at 10:00 is graduation!!
