WELCOME TO KINDER CITY!!
The kids were so excited as we began our study of community helpers!  We started by brainstorming all of the people that help us in our neighborhood.  Then we headed over to our own little city to start working!

The public safety building kept our community safe!  They arrested bad guys, put out fires, and fingerprinted.

At the restaurant they ordered up some yummy snacks!  They also cooked, ran the cash register, and waited tables.

At the school the teachers were busy reading books, writing on the board, learning at computers, and working with letters.

The post office was a busy place as letters were written, envelopes addressed and stamped, and put into the mailbox for the mail carrier to deliver!

Everyone was excited to visit the dentist!  Kids counted their friends teeth, read tooth care books while they waited, and even got a tooth brush on their way out!
This poor guy even got a cavity filled!!
We are playing catch up with our reading series!  The kids learned the sight word "we" and we read What a Treasure!  We went over our new vocabulary words; sturdy, worth, and treasure.  The kids were asked to think about the question, "Can a friend be a treasure?"

In math we continued learning about subtraction with one of our FAVORITE characters!  We read Pete the Cat and His Four Groovy Buttons.  Then we acted it out while we listened to clip.

It was so fun having your kiddos back!!
