This morning we kicked off gingerbread week! We read The Gingerbread Boy by Paul Galdone. We charted the characters, setting, and a brief retell. Then we set about making some gingerbread ornaments! The kids are practicing writing about a sequence of events using first, then, last. We are doing a shared writing of how to make a gingerbread boy/girl. Next week they will do an assessment demonstrating their writing.
Speaking of assessments, today the kids did their writing uppercase letters test. Tomorrow we will do the lower case letters.
Don't forget to dress your kiddos in their Christmas clothes for tomorrow! Also, this Friday is movie night and they will be showing Snow Buddy!
