December 8

I have a couple of things to share with you!  On Friday, Princess Tytla and Princess King graced the halls of Sunflower!  It was such a great way to end a week.  The kids were grinning from ear to ear.  It was so fun to see them dancing in the hallways and high-fiving some of Sunflower's finest.  I am so proud to work with teachers that make coming to school so much fun.  Mrs. Preston had wild success at the book fair, thank you so much!!

One of my reading groups has been waiting for this forever and technology finally was on our side today!  They did a reader's theater of The Gingerbread Man.  We took pictures of the book, voiced over it using our tablets, and published it to youtube.  They are kind of a big deal!  Check it out here.

This Friday we will be having an electronics party with our 4th grade buddies.  They have been working hard to get compliments to earn this celebration!  Your student can bring their own device to play with their buddy!  Please make sure that it is clearly labeled.

I can't believe that we have only a little under 2 weeks until winter break!  I am so excited for Sunflower's first annual all school Polar Express Day!  Next Thursday, December 18th all are invited to come to school in their PJs and hop aboard the Polar Express!  We will be watching the movie and making our own hot chocolate with our buddies!  I am asking that all firsties bring a mug (gently used is PERFECT!) to exchange with their classmates.  There will be more information about this coming home in folders.

On Friday, December 19th we will be having Grinch Day, our winter party, AND the all school sing-a-long!  The schedule will look like this:

9:40-10:50 All first grade Grinch Day stations
12:30-1:30 Winter Party
2:45-3:15 All School Sing-A-Long

If you would like to come help out with any of the festivities please let me know.  It should be a lot of fun!

I have to share these couple of pictures of the cute visitors that came last week!
